Abstract

|
The incidence of sarcoma of the stomach is about 5 percent of all malignant tumors of the stomach, but neurogenic sarcoma of the stomach is very rare in the review of literature. It is difficult to establish a definitive diagnosis of neurogenic sarcoma without biopsy.
This case, we had experienced, was a 56 year old woman who had chief complaints of massive hematemesis and melena for 1 week prior to admission. This tumor was located in the fundus of the stomach without regional and distant metastasis grossly, and diagnosed as neurogenic sarcoma of the stomach microscopically. An operation was performed with proximal gastrectomy and esophagogastrostomy. Postoperative course is satisfactory.
